Hello Jeff, the Austin Transportation and Public Works Department (TPW) has received your request for an additional stop sign on Parkwood Dr. TPW would have to make this intersection an All-Way Stop for it to work properly. I understand you are near a school and TPW takes safety very serious especially for students. However, this intersection would net meet the warrants necessary for an All-Way stop. One main warrant is that you need approximately 500 vehicles per hour for 8 hours of the day traveling through that intersection. I don't think this intersection does that kind of volume. These warrants are in the Texas Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). I can send that section to you if you would like to read it.. No Parking signs 180 feet north of Hancock Blvd were in place and fully visible on east and west sides. 11/7/23 - Spoke with requestor. Informed requestor that TPW does not typically sign residential neighborhoods with mobility issues present. Should a vehicle park in front of a driveway, APD should be called for enforcement.
